SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Caroline P. Barry of Woodstock, who
4passed away on July 11, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Caroline Barry was born on August 24, 1932 in
6McHenry; his parents were Frank and Kathryn (nee Behlke) Urban;
7she married Walter R. Barry on May 26, 1951 in Woodstock; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Caroline Barry lived in Woodstock for most of her
9life; she worked as a certified Dietary Manager at Hearthstone
10Manor (formerly Sunset Manor) in Woodstock for 25 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Caroline Barry's faith, the Free Methodist Church
12in Woodstock, and spending time with her loving family and
13friends was an important part of her life; she was also an
14amazing cake decorator and enjoyed needlework, crocheting,
15gardening, and playing cards; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Caroline Barry was preceded in death by her
17parents; her loving husband of 64 years, Walter; a son, Donald
18Barry; a son-in-law, Rob Cook; a great-grandson, Ethan Mackay;
19a great-granddaughter, Zoe Rae Grasley; and 2 sisters,
20Katherine Zimmerman and Lucille Westphal; and

1    WHEREAS, Caroline Barry is survived by 3 daughters, Penny
2(John) Johnson, Peggy (Chris) Grasley, and Carol (Gunnar)
3Berglund; a daughter-in-law, Donna Barry; her grandchildren,
4Adam (Michelle) Cook, Jessica (Matt) Greget, Marc (Brooke)
5Grasley, Andrea Grasley, Andrew and Alex Barry, Shannon
6(Robert) Diamond, Brett (Sandy) Fredrick, and Phillip
7Fredrick; 2 step-grandchildren, Jaclyn (Sean) Hodges and Jesse
8Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, Colin, and
9Sara Grasley, Paige Mackay, Owen Greget, Isabella Cook, Alexis
10and Jared Fredrick, and London Diamond; 2
11step-great-grandchildren, Oliver Greget and Emma Howard; 2
12sisters, MaryAnn Harter and Linda (Dennis) Mann; 2
13sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Glenn) Hammer and Judy (Denver)
14McCowan; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
17family and friends, mourn the passing of Caroline P. Barry; and
18be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Caroline Barry as an expression of
21our sympathy.
