SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Caroline P. Barry of Woodstock, who passed away on July 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Barry was born on August 24, 1932 in McHenry; his parents were Frank and Kathryn (nee Behlke) Urban; she married Walter R. Barry on May 26, 1951 in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Barry lived in Woodstock for most of her life; she worked as a certified Dietary Manager at Hearthstone Manor (formerly Sunset Manor) in Woodstock for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Barry's faith, the Free Methodist Church in Woodstock, and spending time with her loving family and friends was an important part of her life; she was also an amazing cake decorator and enjoyed needlework, crocheting, gardening, and playing cards; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Barry was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 64 years, Walter; a son, Donald Barry; a son-in-law, Rob Cook; a great-grandson, Ethan Mackay; a great-granddaughter, Zoe Rae Grasley; and 2 sisters, Katherine Zimmerman and Lucille Westphal; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Barry is survived by 3 daughters, Penny (John) Johnson, Peggy (Chris) Grasley, and Carol (Gunnar) Berglund; a daughter-in-law, Donna Barry; her grandchildren, Adam (Michelle) Cook, Jessica (Matt) Greget, Marc (Brooke) Grasley, Andrea Grasley, Andrew and Alex Barry, Shannon (Robert) Diamond, Brett (Sandy) Fredrick, and Phillip Fredrick; 2 step-grandchildren, Jaclyn (Sean) Hodges and Jesse Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, Colin, and Sara Grasley, Paige Mackay, Owen Greget, Isabella Cook, Alexis and Jared Fredrick, and London Diamond; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Oliver Greget and Emma Howard; 2 sisters, MaryAnn Harter and Linda (Dennis) Mann; 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Glenn) Hammer and Judy (Denver) McCowan; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Caroline P. Barry; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Caroline Barry as an expression of our sympathy.
