SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rachel Matilda Amelianovich of Harvard, who passed away on July 13, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich was born in Washington Island, Wisconsin on July 24, 1922 to George and Olga (nee Pederson) Jorgenson; she married Anthony Amelianovich in Chicago on March 23, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich worked for the Admiral Engineering and Manufacturing Company and Arnold Engineering of Marengo; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Women of the Moose in Harvard; she belonged to the Harvard Food Pantry and Senior Center and volunteered at the school for reading pairs; she enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, and bingo and was a Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Gordon Jorgensen, Oliver Jorgensen, Emily Jensen, George Jorgensen, Marge Reagan, Chuck Jorgenson, and Leonard Jorgenson; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich is survived by her children, Pam (John) Charleston, Tony (Cindy) Amelianovich, and Greg (Laurel) Amelianovich; her 9 grandchildren; her 5 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gertrude Young; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rachel Matilda Amelianovich, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rachel Amelianovich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
