SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George D. Imhoff of Algonquin, who passed away on July 3, 2015; and

WHEREAS, George Imhoff was born in Troy Township, Iowa on December 21, 1926 to Henry and Ella (nee Austin) Imhoff; after attending high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Mustin during World War II; he married Betty Jane Tilche on March 6, 1948 in Ontarioville; and

WHEREAS, George Imhoff was self-employed as a carpenter and co-owner of the S & I Construction Company until 1963, when he founded Imhoff Construction, which he operated for nearly 50 years; he was a member of the Local #2087 Carpenter's Union; and

WHEREAS, George Imhoff was a lifetime member of the American Legion, past President of the Algonquin Lions Club, Trustee of the Congregational Church of Algonquin, which he and his wife had been a member of for over 60 years, and a founding member of Algonquin Founder's Days; and

WHEREAS, George Imhoff was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bradley; his granddaughter, Kari (Bob) Crewe; his great-grandson, Zane Spitznas; his brothers, Russell (Arliss) Imhoff and Julian (Pat) Imhoff; and his sisters, Flora (Kenneth) Coon and Vernie (Neil) McManaman; and

WHEREAS, George Imhoff was the beloved husband of Betty Jane Imhoff (nee Tilche); the beloved father of Don (Carol), Cindi, and Randy (Toni) Imhoff; the fond grandfather of Greg (Katie) Imhoff, Zach (Susie) Imhoff, Amy (Joe) Fujino, Michael Imhoff, Lindsey (Mark) Hartwig, and Lauren Spitznas; the great-grandfather of Makena, Alyvia, Dean, Luke, Jake, Nattily, Laeden, Zoe, and Klare; the dear brother of Ben (Kathleen) Imhoff and Genieve (Bob) Engelbrecht; and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George D. Imhoff, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Imhoff as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
