SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Paul Meisenheimer of Bunker Hill, who passed away on May 31, 2015; and

WHEREAS, James Meisenheimer was born in Alton on August 15, 1925 to Julius and Nellie (nee Braden) Meisenheimer; he served in the United States Army during World War II and married Gladys M. Wood on August 3, 1950 in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, James Meisenheimer worked for Alton Boxboard for 43 years; he worked for Meisenheimer Trucking and Excavating since 1963 and also did drain cleaning; he dug the graves at the local Bunker Hill area cemeteries since 1968; and

WHEREAS, James Meisenheimer raised horses and took them to the Illinois State Fair; he took great pride and joy in watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports; he enjoyed fishing with his grandkids and taking them swimming at his brother Earl's pond; he was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan; and

WHEREAS, James Meisenheimer was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tom Meisenheimer; his granddaughter, Brandy Hanner; his great-granddaughter, Evelynn Grace Santel; and his brother, Bob Meisenheimer; and

WHEREAS, James Meisenheimer is survived by his wife, Gladys; his son, Jim (Janice) Meisenheimer; his daughters, Peggy Bennett and Christy Santel; his grandchildren, Deidre (Joe) Charles, Jimmy (Moriah) Meisenheimer, Andrea (Josh) Kohring, Tommy (Meghan) Santel, JR (fiancee Nicki) Santel, Nick (companion Gina) Santel, and Steve (Shannon) Clemonds; his great-grandchildren, Kendall Meisenheimer, Colleen Meisenheimer, Jacob Kohring, Lauren Kohring, Eva Kohring, Logan Santel, Tyler Santel, Zoey Santel, and Christian Howell; his brothers, Earl Meisenheimer and Kenny (Betty) Meisenheimer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Paul Meisenheimer, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Meisenheimer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
