SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John F. Cirricione of Joliet, who passed
4away on December 16, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Cirricione was born in Joliet on April 24,
61926 to Sylvester and Mary (nee DiLorenzo) Cirricione; he
7graduated from Joliet Township High School, Joliet Junior
8College, and The John Marshall Law School; he served in the
9United States Navy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Cirricione worked in private practice in
11Joliet for 31 years; he was then appointed Associate Judge of
12the 12th Judicial Circuit, a position he held for 17 years; he
13was admitted as an Attorney and Counselor of the Supreme Court
14of the United States; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Cirricione was an avid drummer, starting in
16high school and continuing throughout his entire life; he was a
17member of the American Legion Band, the Shrine Club Band, and
18played in the Jay Mau Orchestra; he was a member of Joliet
19Masonic Temple Matteson Lodge #175, Ancient Free and Accepted
20Masons; past President of the Joliet Chapter of UNICO; a member
21of American Federation of Musicians Local #37; and a former
22member of the Joliet Junior College Board; he enjoyed spending

1time his wife, Betty, at their home in Arkansas; and
 
2    WHEREAS, John Cirricione was preceded in death by his first
3wife, Nancy (nee Eckert) Cirricione; his son, John Cirricione;
4his parents; his sister, Anna Marie (Thomas) Turigliatto; and
5his step-son, Joseph Holzgethan; and
 
6    WHEREAS, John Cirricione is survived by his wife, Betty A.
7(nee Baxter) Cirricione; his daughter, Sandra (Thomas)
8Cowgill; his 2 sons, Thomas (Karen) Cirricione and Richard
9(Candace) Cirricione; his 2 step-children, William (Marilyn)
10Holzgethan and Ruth (Brian) Gabor; his 11 grandchildren, Mark
11(Holly) Cowgill, Jennifer (Corwin) Sandusky, James (Rachel)
12Cowgill, Laura Cirricione, Lisa Cirricione, Nancy Cirricione,
13Elizabeth (Justin) Summerville, Lynn Cirricione, Anthony
14Cirricione, Jill Cirricione, and John Cirricione; his 4
15step-grandchildren, Jill Holzgethan, Brian Gabor, Jr., Corey
16Gabor, and Benjamin Gabor; his 8 great-grandchildren; his 2
17nieces, Terri Nugent and Trudi Cassidy; and his nephew, Tom
18Turigliatto; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21John F. Cirricione, and extend our sincere condolences to his
22family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
