SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mildred Orlovich, who passed away on May 2, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Orlovich was born on July 13, 1912; her parents were Vaso and Helen (nee Zegarac) Petkovich; she was a resident of Joliet and Rockdale; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Orlovich retired from the Will County Sheriff Department after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Orlovich was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church and a founding member of the Circle of Serbian Sisters; she was also an Honorary Graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Orlovich was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, JoAnn; her parents; 5 sisters, Sophie (Leo) Klemt, Mary (George) Shimek, Stella (Joseph) Enich, Bessie (John) Hrechko, and Dorothy (Fred) Pribish, Sr.; and a brother, Peter (Leona) Petkovich; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Orlovich is survived by a son, Joseph (Josephine) Orlovich, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Marlo (Bartley) Perry, Joel Orlovich, and Paula (Jon) Waller; and a great-grandson, Brice Waller; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Mildred Orlovich; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mildred Orlovich as an expression of our sympathy.
