SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence R. "Larry" Graf, Jr. of Lake in
4the Hills, who passed away on April 9, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Graf was born in Chicago on January 17, 1946
6to Lawrence, Sr. and Rose (nee Cossa) Graf; he was raised in
7Cicero and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in
8Elmhurst and from Lewis College in Lockport; he served
9honorably in the United States Navy; he married Barbara Shramuk
10in 1968 and moved to Lake in the Hills in 1975; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Larry Graf was the retired President of Graf
12Insurance Services and a founder and executive of Trade
13Insurance Services and Intercargo in Schaumburg; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Larry Graf was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoying
15many afternoons at Wrigley Field with family and friends; he
16coached baseball teams in Lake in the Hills and took his
17children to sports events and on fishing trips; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Larry Graf is survived by his wife of 46 years,
19Barbara; his children, Anthony, Phillip (Jennipher), Lawrence
20III, Nicholas, Mark (Jane), Steven (Kristine), Kristen, and
21Matthew; his 14 grandchildren, Meredith, Sophia, Frances, Roy,

1Gloria, Marie, Catherine, Mason, William, Harrison, Connor,
2Emma, Rose, and Jack; his sister, Judith (Donald) Sommer; and a
3large extended family; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Lawrence R. "Larry" Graf, Jr., and extend our sincere
7condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
8him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Larry Graf as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
