SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael L. Hagi, Sr. of Spring Grove, who passed away on April 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was born on July 7, 1944 in Evanston; his parents were Christian M. Gerber and Virginia Pauly; he was raised by Albert Hagi, Sr.; he married Jacqualine A. Nickels on March 31, 1973; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was raised in Chicago and graduated from Lakeview High School; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was an entrepreneur in the Spring Grove area for over 30 years; he was the proprietor of Main Street Foods in Spring Grove for over 30 years and the proprietor of Mike's Auto Works since 1994; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was a former Captain of the Spring Grove Fire Department and a Fire Prevention Officer; he also served on the Spring Grove School Board; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. loved cars and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Denise Hagi; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jackie; 2 children, Michael (Kamie) Hagi, Jr. and Carla (Brad Cooper) Hagi; 2 grandchildren, Giada and Ryan; a sister, Fran (Dale) Johnson; a brother, Al Hagi; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael L. Hagi, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Hagi, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
