SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Willie Columbus Steward of Markham, who passed away on April 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Willie Steward was born on December 19, 1933 to Ira "IC" Charles and Johnnie Steward; he was educated at Yazoo City Training School and Tougaloo College in Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Willie Steward was employed at Xonics Medical System in Chicago for over 25 years; later, he became a Quality Control Manager, a job he took pride in until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Willie Steward was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Ira Charles Steward, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Willie Steward is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Alyce Steward; his sons, Michael (Sandra) Steward and Willie F. Steward; and his sibling, Shirley Hennington; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Willie Columbus Steward, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Willie Steward as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
