SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John J. "Jake" Jakovich, who passed away on December 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, John Jakovich graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1961; and

WHEREAS, John Jakovich had a renowned career in the retail automotive industry; he worked for many years at Vidmar Buick and finished as Executive Manager at Bill Jacobs Chevrolet in Plainfield in 2010; and

WHEREAS, John Jakovich was an avid golfer and bowler; he was a member of the Moran Athletic Club and Plainfield Moose Lodge #2491; and

WHEREAS, John Jakovich was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Alice (nee Benedick) Jakovich; his brother-in-law; and numerous aunts and uncles; and

WHEREAS, John Jakovich is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn (nee Sorensen); his sons, John "Jake, Jr.", Jason (Amanda), and Joseph (Shannon) Jakovich; his grandchildren, Brady, Jake, Alison, Jack, and Maggie Jakovich; his sister, Mary Alyce Koren; his special niece and Goddaughter, Jenelle Koren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John J. "Jake" Jakovich, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Jakovich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
