SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of T.L. "Dr. Para" Paramanandhan of Spring Grove, who passed away on December 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Paramanandhan was born in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka on September 6, 1933 to Mylevaganam and Ratnam Paramanandhan; she married Jay Horton in Palatine in August of 1983; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Paramanandhan graduated from the University of Ceylon as a medical physician and practiced for over 47 years, retiring in 2007; she volunteered her time and expertise at the McHenry County Clinic for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Paramanandhan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay; and her 2 sisters, Vimaleswari Navaratran and Swarna SenathiRajah; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Paramanandhan is survived by her 2 sons, Andrew Janovski and Nicholas Janovski, Jr., and her 2 sisters, Paremeswari Satkunananthan and Kirubai Jayatilaka; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of T.L. "Dr. Para" Paramanandhan, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dr. Paramanandhan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
