SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph A. "Joe" Falotico, who passed away
4on March 18, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Falotico was born on March 3, 1934 to Sam
6and Lena Falotico; he married Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Borzick
7on September 4, 1954 and they settled in Gurnee in 1964; he
8attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph Falotico worked as a salesman for Drake
10Electric and then Interstate Electric, retiring in 1999; he
11went on to start and own 3 car washes in Lake Villa, Salem, and
12Fox Lake; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Early in his life, Joseph Falotico was a member of
14Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan, where he was highly
15involved in the Holy Name Society and Church Choir; he was also
16a reader, Eucharistic minister, and CCD teacher; he spent many
17volunteer hours at the VA hospital on Sundays, bringing
18patients to Mass and doing the church readings at St. Therese
19Chapel as well; he was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of
20Columbus Council #731 and #11112, and Past Faithful Navigator
214th degree Bishop Quarter Assembly; he also cooked dinner for
22the K of C Bingo volunteers; he was in charge of "Italian

1Night" at the K of C club in Waukegan; he was among the
2original members for St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee,
3where he helped open the church for daily mass for over 15
4years; he was also a Eucharistic Minister and Minister of Care;
5he was "Santa" for many pre-schools, church functions, Model
6"A" Christmas parties, and for close family and friends, and
7most of all to his kids, grandchildren, and
8great-grandchildren; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph Falotico was a very active person, keeping
10up with his large garden to which he always shared the bounty
11of fruit and veggies from the trunk of his car at church; he
12opened his trunk when he arrived at church and by the time Mass
13was over his trunk was empty; he enjoyed keeping up with his
14yard work and driving his Model "A" cars to shows and on short
15trips; he hosted many picnics at his home throughout the years;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Joseph Falotico was preceded in death by his
18parents and his grandson, Derek Manuel; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joseph Falotico is survived by his wife,
20Elizabeth; his children, Danny (Renee) Falotico, Jacqueline
21(Larry) Williams, Mary Kay Falotico, Joseph S. (Laura)
22Falotico, Peter (Christina) Falotico, Diane (Mike) Kennedy,
23Brenda (Dale) Stark, Therese (Gayle) Manuel, John (Holly)

1Falotico, and Sharon (Ron) Jensen; his grandchildren, Brian
2(Fay) Falotico, Scott (Monica) Falotico, Steve (Tamara)
3Falotico, Robert and Samantha Williams, Stuart and Lucy
4Lawrence, Dillon and Hunter Falotico, Hayley and Savannah
5Kennedy, Kayla, Zachary, and Sara Stark, Amy Kubes, Gregory
6Guntharp, Hannah Rummel, Nicole Manuel, Wilder, Carly and
7Tritium Falotico, and Veronica and Maggie Jensen; his
8great-grandchildren, Miah, Sophia, Dominic, Jaxton, Isaac,
9Isabella Falotico, Sinclair and Hunter Guntharp, and Zakary
10Kubes; his sisters, Lenora (Robert) Lunkenhiemer, Antoinette
11(Ron) Packman, and Mary (Bob) Hlidek; and many nieces, nephews,
12and special friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Joseph A. "Joe" Falotico, and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Joseph Falotico as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
