SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Henry Dilliard of Belleville, who passed away on March 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dilliard born in Dorchester on October 24, 1922; he married Winifred Sawyer on August 28, 1943 in Bunker Hill; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dilliard had several careers during his life; he was farmer, an accountant, a business owner, and a professor; he was particularly proud of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed telling his family stories; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dilliard was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred; his daughter, Fran; his parents; and his 2 sisters, Pat and Charlene; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dilliard is survived by his 2 sons, Terry (Beverly) Dilliard and Kevin (Julie) Dilliard; his 4 grandchildren, Holly (Paul) Hamby, Abby (Aaron) Dirksmeyer, Kaitlin Dilliard, and Erin Dilliard; his 4 great-grandchildren, Alec Hamby, Landon Dirksmeyer, Alexia Hamby, and Kerrigan Dirksmeyer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Henry Dilliard, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Dilliard as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
