SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald J.P. Banks; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Banks graduated from DePaul Law School in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Banks started his public career as a Cook County prosecutor; he eventually supervised traffic court and served as an Associate Judge; he was elected Circuit Court Judge in 1982, retiring in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Banks enjoyed movies, playing golf, playing cards, and vacationing in Jamaica with his wife, Donna; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Banks was the beloved husband of Donna (nee Smat); the devoted father of Ronald (Shelly), Kimberly, Samuel (Rosella), Lynn, Hope (Dean) Jaeger, and Heather Banks; the loving son of the late James J. and Hope Marie Banks; the dear son-in-law of Virginia (the late Charles) Smat; the proud Grandfather of Ariana, Marisa, Miles Banks, and Matthew and Jacob Jaeger; the dear brother of Marlene Panebianco, The Honorable William J.P. (Shirley), and of the late James and the late Samuel V.P. (Dorothy) Banks; and the beloved uncle and great-uncle of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald J.P. Banks, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ronald Banks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
