SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eunice I. Ashenfelter of Springfield, who passed away on July 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Eunice Ashenfelter was born on May 23, 1926 in St. Mary's, West Virginia; she married Leo V. Ashenfelter on August 31, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Eunice Ashenfelter retired from J.C. Penney as Assistant Manager of the Housewares Department after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Eunice Ashenfelter was a member of the First Church of God; and

WHEREAS, Eunice Ashenfelter was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; her daughter, Sharon Jenkins; and her son-in-law, Richard Kuder; and

WHEREAS, Eunice Ashenfelter is survived by her daughters, Karon (Ed) Kane and Jody Kuder; her sons, Michael (Kathy) Ashenfelter, Mark (Tina) Ashenfelter, and John (Liane) Ashenfelter; her 11 grandchildren; and her 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Eunice I. Ashenfelter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eunice Ashenfelter as an expression of our sympathy.
