SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

60 ILCS 1/40-30

Amends the Township Code. Provides that by-laws, rules, and regulations shall also be posted on the township's Internet website if there is such a website in addition to being published in a newspaper. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing Section 40-30 as follows:

(60 ILCS 1/40-30)

Sec. 40-30. Notice of township regulations. The township clerk shall cause all by-laws, rules, and regulations of the township to be published within 20 days after their adoption by posting them in 3 public places in the town. The clerk also shall cause the by-laws, rules, and regulations to be inserted once in a newspaper published in the township if there is such a newspaper, and posted on the township's Internet website if there is such a website. All by-laws, rules, and regulations shall take effect and be in force from the date of their adoption unless otherwise directed by the electors.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
