SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Henry Hollins, Sr. of Joliet, who passed away on January 5, 2014; and

WHEREAS, James Hollins, Sr. was born on August 15, 1928 in Pinola, Mississippi to William and Naomi Hollins; he served his country in the United States Marines for 23 years; he fought in 2 wars and received numerous medals and accolades; and

WHEREAS, James Hollins, Sr. was retired from EJ & E Railroad, where he was in marketing analysis for many years; in retirement, he established Hollins Tax & Accounting which he operated for 33 years in the Joliet area; he retired in 2004; and

WHEREAS, James Hollins, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Credle Hollins; his sons, Johnnie Smith and James Albert Heath; and his grandson, Malcolm Kent Tramel; and

WHEREAS, James Hollins, Sr. is survived by his children, Jackie (Skip) Lee, Debra (Errie) Perrie, and James H. Hollins, Jr.; his 5 sisters; his 2 brothers; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Henry Hollins, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Hollins, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
