SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia "Pat" Kellogg of Woodstock, who passed away on January 17, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Kellogg was born on November 11, 1931 in Chicago to Ray and Mildred Johnson; she graduated from Taft High School in Chicago in 1949 and earned her associate's degree from McHenry County College while in her 60s; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Kellogg worked for many years for the Zukowski, Rogers, Flood, and McArdle law firm; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Kellogg was an avid cyclist and continued cycling even into her 80s; she enjoyed gardening, cross-country skiing, camping, kayaking, and snow shoeing with her bike club friends, who referred to her as "our little general"; she was a member and treasurer of the McHenry County Bike Club since 1981; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Kellogg was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Laura Kellogg Kipping; and her in-laws, Roger and Isabelle Kellogg; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Kellogg is survived by her children, Lynn (Bruce) Behrns and Dan (Carolyn) Kellogg; her sister, Carol Hayes (George) Heck; her grandchildren, Joshua (Annie) Behrns and Adam (Kristin) Behrns; her great-grandchildren, Carter, Lily, and Graham; her niece, Beth (George) Wirth; her nephew, Peter (Susan) Hayes; and her dear friend, Nancy Loomis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patricia "Pat" Kellogg, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patricia Kellogg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
