SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Paulson of Crystal Lake, who passed away on December 23, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Robert Paulson was born on October 1, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Edwin and Ellen (nee Carlson) Paulson; he entered the United States Army at age 15 and was discharged just before World War II; he re-enlisted in the Army during the war and was a member of the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles"; he married Gladys Johnson on March 6, 1944; and

WHEREAS, Following the war, he graduated from the California Plastic Institute and returned to Chicago to open a specialty plastic manufacturing company; he also owned and operated Perimeter Heating and Ventilating in Grayslake from 1953 to 1974 and Cur-Ric Petroleum and Gas Corporation in Muskogee, Oklahoma; and

WHEREAS, Robert Paulson was an inventor and holds 3 product patents; and

WHEREAS, Robert Paulson was preceded in death by his parents; his 2 sisters; his brother; and his granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, Robert Paulson is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gladys; his sons, Curtis (Maureen) Paulson and Richard (Robin) Paulson; his grandchildren, Robert (Emily) Paulson, II, Jeffrey (Becky) Paulson, Erica (Rob) Zarnstorff, and Nicole (Edwin) Chalira; his great-grandchildren, Lily and Brody Paulson, Easton Paulson, Madelynne and Clara Zarnstorff, and Tadala Chalira; his sister, Beatrice Reiter; and his brother, Edwin Paulson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" Paulson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Paulson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
