SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Emilia Sotomayor of Waukegan, who passed away on October 5, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor was born on May 8, 1933 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico; she had lived in the Waukegan area for 60 years; and

WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor retired from Abbott Laboratories after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Sotomayor, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor is survived by her sons, Alfonso (Isamary) Sotomayor, Jr. and Ramon Sotomayor; her grandchildren, Janel Sotomayor and Janysa Sotomayor; her great-grandchildren, Sean Conner, Jr., Jailene Conner, and Jordan Nedanovski; and her sister, Eleanor (Luis) Sotomayor; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Emilia Sotomayor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Emilia Sotomayor as an expression of our sympathy.
