SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara Ann Rous (nee Baier) of McHenry, who passed away on November 14, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Rous was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 26, 1948 to Gilbert and Elizabeth (nee Betty) Baier; she graduated from West Leyden High School and married Edward Rous on October 25, 1969 at St. Gertrude Parish in Franklin Park; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Rous served as a union liaison and drove school buses for school districts 15 and 156, retiring in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Rous was very active with St. Patrick Church in McHenry; she served on St. Patrick's Ladies Guild and volunteered for the PADS program; she drove seniors to doctor appointments and distributed food through the Northern Illinois Food Bank; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Rous enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to casinos, country line dancing, and spending the weekends scouring the local garage sales; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Rous was preceded in death by her mother; her sister-in-law, Barbara Lehmann; and dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Rous is survived by her father; her husband of 44 years, Edward; her children, Brian, Jamie (John) Sarff, and Carrie (Michael) McClellan; her grandchildren, Lee and Samantha; her brothers, Gilbert (Jan), Robin (Susan), and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barbara Ann Rous, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Rous as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
