SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara Ann Rous (nee Baier) of McHenry,
4who passed away on November 14, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Rous was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on
6September 26, 1948 to Gilbert and Elizabeth (nee Betty) Baier;
7she graduated from West Leyden High School and married Edward
8Rous on October 25, 1969 at St. Gertrude Parish in Franklin
9Park; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Barbara Rous served as a union liaison and drove
11school buses for school districts 15 and 156, retiring in 2008;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Barbara Rous was very active with St. Patrick
14Church in McHenry; she served on St. Patrick's Ladies Guild and
15volunteered for the PADS program; she drove seniors to doctor
16appointments and distributed food through the Northern
17Illinois Food Bank; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Barbara Rous enjoyed traveling with her husband,
19going to casinos, country line dancing, and spending the
20weekends scouring the local garage sales; and

1    WHEREAS, Barbara Rous was preceded in death by her mother;
2her sister-in-law, Barbara Lehmann; and dear aunts, uncles,
3cousins, and a nephew; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Barbara Rous is survived by her father; her
5husband of 44 years, Edward; her children, Brian, Jamie (John)
6Sarff, and Carrie (Michael) McClellan; her grandchildren, Lee
7and Samantha; her brothers, Gilbert (Jan), Robin (Susan), and
8Daniel; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Barbara Ann Rous, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Barbara Rous as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
