SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James A. Feeney of Channahon, who passed
4away on November 30, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Feeney was born on October 30, 1940 in Elgin
6to John B. and Genevieve (nee McDonald) Feeney; he graduated
7from St. John's Catholic Grade School in Joliet and attended
8Joliet Catholic High School and Joliet Central High School; he
9married Sharon Randolph; and
 
10    WHEREAS, James Feeney worked for Sulphur Terminal, Rogers
11Carthage Company, Wadsworth Golf Construction Company, and
12Illinois Truck and Equipment; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James Feeney was a former member of the Channahon
14Volunteer Fire Department and a former board member of the
15Channahon Fire Protection District and the Channahon Park
16District; he was a member of St. Ann Catholic Parish and St.
17Ann Men's Club and one of the founders of St. Ann Mission
18Chapel; he also belonged to Teamsters Local #179 Retirees; and
 
19    WHEREAS, James Feeney enjoyed grilling for Daybreak
20Shelter, feeding hummingbirds, fishing, camping, and his
21Christmas morning oyster stew and "Grandpa's Breakfast Club";

2    WHEREAS, James Feeney was preceded in death by his parents
3and by his sister, Darlene (the late James) Downey; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Feeney is survived by his wife of 50 years,
5Sharon; his children, James A. (Lucy) Feeney, Jr. and Sharyl
6(John) Horvat; his grandchildren, Katherine (Charles) Davis,
7John W. Feeney, Chandler Horvat, Shalyn Horvat, and John J.
8Horvat; his great-grandchild, McKenna Mae Davis; his siblings,
9Michael (Phyllis) Feeney, John (Virginia) Feeney, Mary Jean
10(Jerry) Breen, and Patrick (Michele) Feeney; his Godchildren,
11Kim Mitchell and Kathi Miner; his special nieces, Kirby Feeney
12and Jeannine Arias; and many more nieces and nephews;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16James A. Feeney, and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of James Feeney as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
