SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Virginia "Ginny" Clemonds of Plainview, who passed away on October 8, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Clemonds was born on July 4, 1922 in Planview to Edgar J. and Clara Elizabeth (nee Coffee) Fuess; she married John H. Clemonds on November 20, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Clemonds, along with her husband, was the owner and operator of the Barn Restaurant in Gillespie; she also worked as a nurse at the "Old Carlinville Hospital"; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Clemonds was a member of the Knitting Group at Zion Lutheran Church; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Clemonds was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her brother, Charles Peters; and her son-in-law, State Senator Vince Demuzio; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Clemonds is survived by her daughter, former State Senator Deanna Demuzio; her grandson, Brad Demuzio; her granddaughter, Stephanie (Patrick) Blair; her great-grandchildren, Blake Demuzio, Brooke Demuzio, Tristan Blair, and Gillian Blair; and her sister, Jacquelyn (Kenny) Klaus; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Virginia "Ginny" Clemonds, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Virginia Clemonds as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
