SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronnie James Boddie of North Chicago, who passed away on November 15, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Boddie was born on December 10, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee; his parents were Naomi Boddie and Charles Makins; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Boddie graduated from North Chicago High School in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Boddie served as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Boddie worked at Defense Automated Printing Services in Great Lakes for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Boddie was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Boddie; his grandparents, Samuel and Frenchie Boddie; his sister, Fannie Henderson; his uncle, Robert Boddie; his aunts, Arguster Boddie and Nancy Yarbrough; and his father-in-law, Bishop Calvin Watkins; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Boddie is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Pastor Geraldine Boddie; his son, Gerron Boddie; his sisters, Belria Pittman and Amber Renfroe; his brothers-in-law, Johnnie Henderson and Calvin George Gibson; his mother-in-law, Essie Watkins; his aunts, Beulah Boddie, Evelyn Boddie, Lois Wilborn, and Rose Keaton; his uncle, Pastor Edward (Linda) Ervin; his nephew, Anthony Boddie; his special friend, Rezoila McLaughlin; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Ronnie James Boddie; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ronnie Boddie as an expression of our sympathy.
