SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph I. Leben of Grayslake, formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on December 2, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was born on August 18, 1922, in North Chicago; he married Alice Liska on June 22, 1946, in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was employed with US Steel-Cyclone Fence for 35 years until his retirement in 1976; he finished his career at Tenth Street Hardware in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was a member of Prince of Peace Church in Lake Villa; he was also a former member of the North Chicago American Legion Sharvin Post, KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge #53, the US Steel Retiree's Club, the Korus Social Club, and the Norstates Ambassador's Club; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben enjoyed playing golf and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Stanley; his sister, Margaret; and his grandson, Scott Leben; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Leben is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice; his children, Marilyn (Steven) Rodbro, Kenneth (Katherine) Leben, and Gregory (Mary) Leben; his grandchildren, Andrew (Tom) Rodbro, Eric (Amy) Rodbro, Matthew (fiancee, Laura) Rodbro, and Kristen (Chris) Lybrook; his great-grandson, Grayson Michael Lybrook; his nephew, Robert Leben; his nieces, Bernice (Bill) Jordan and Carol Leben; and his dear friends, Stan and Martha Trygar; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Joseph I. Leben; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Leben as an expression of our sympathy.
