SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kim K. Kearby, who passed away on
4September 19, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Kearby was born on November 30, 1946 in
6Hammond, Indiana; his parents were Jerome C. and Dorothy M.
7(nee Leu) Kearby; he married Jeanne L. Bell on June 5, 1981 in
8Waukegan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kim Kearby was raised and educated in Hammond and
10Chicago; he graduated from Lutheran North High School and
11Illinois Teachers College in Chicago and earned his Master's
12Degree from National Louis University in Evanston; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Kim Kearby served as an educator for his entire
14career; he served as a teacher at Round Lake Beach and Village
15elementary schools for 40 years until his retirement in 2011;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kim Kearby served as the President of the Teachers
18Union for multiple years; he served as Region 38 Chair for the
19Illinois Education Association; he was also a member of the
20Round Lake District 116 School Board and was elected as an
21officer of the Northern Lake Retired Illinois Education

1Association; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Kim Kearby is survived by his wife of 32 years,
3Jeanne; his children, Che (Melissa) Kearby, Michael Kearby,
4Quinn (Feonia) Kearby, and Reed Kearby; and his grandchildren,
5Jefferson and Keegan; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Kim K. Kearby; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Kim Kearby as an expression of our
12sympathy and in honor of his life and accomplishments.
