SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas N. Rockey; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Rockey attended Parker High School, where he played football; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Rockey joined the United States Air Force on July 7, 1952 and was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for basic training; he was then sent to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita County, Texas and eventually ended up at Nellis Air Force in Southern Nevada, where he was a member of the Thunderbird Squadron until 1956; he returned to Chicago after being discharged from the Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Rocky enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends and reminiscing about his days in the Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Rockey was the beloved husband of Janice (nee McElroy) Rockey; the loving father of Lynn (Alfred) Molenhouse, Karen (Michael) Mazurek, and Steven (Beth) Rockey; the cherished grandfather of Jeffrey, Michelle, Kelly, Kevin, Kendall, Kara, Matthew, Mary, and Emily; and dear brother-in-law of Robert (Geraldine) McElroy and Willard (Marcy) McElroy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas N. Rockey and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Rockey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
