SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James P. "Jim" Hartke of Crystal Lake,
4who passed away on September 16, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Hartke was born October 3, 1950 in Chicago;
6his parents were George and Patricia Hartke; he married Laura
7L. Cantrell on July 11, 1981 in Cary; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jim Hartke taught physical education for 35 years;
9he served as athletic director and coached volleyball and
10basketball at Cary Junior High School; he also served as a
11coach in the community Cary Youth Baseball and Cary basketball
12programs for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Hartke enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading,
14watching the Chicago White Sox, and spending time with his
15family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Hartke is survived by his wife, Laura Hartke;
17his children, Eric (Ashley) Hartke and Trisha Hartke; his
18siblings, Michael (Kathleen) Hartke, Gail (Jay) McNalis, and
19Jack (Anne) Hartke; his mother-in-law, Kay Mueller; his
20sister-in-law, Valerie (Steve) Kulovsek; his brother-in-law,
21Billy (Jeanne) Cantrell; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins,

1and extended family members; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
4family and friends, mourn the passing of James P. "Jim" Hartke;
5and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Jim Hartke as an expression of our
8sympathy.
