SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul Duncan Leitch of Memphis, Tennessee,
4formerly of East Peoria, who passed away on August 12, 2013;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Paul Leitch was born on June 24, 1950, in Three
7Rivers, Michigan, to Duncan and Eunice Leitch; he graduated
8from East Peoria Community High School in 1968; he earned a
9Bachelor's Degree from Grinnell College in Iowa, a Master's
10Degree from Florida State University, and a Juris Doctor from
11the University of Memphis; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Paul Leitch worked in human resources, practiced
13law, and taught sociology classes; he married Soledad Alip in
141980 while teaching on a United States Naval base in the
15Philippines; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Paul Leitch enjoyed spending time with his family
17and pet dogs, reading books, exploring the Memphis Zoo, and
18attending many softball, soccer, and basketball games; he liked
19Motown music, running in races, Peeps candy, and often went out
20in search of gifts for others; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Paul Leitch was preceded in death by his mother;

2    WHEREAS, Paul Leitch is survived by his wife, Soledad; his
3children, Duncan Leitch and Sally (Jared) Woodruff; his
4siblings, State Representative David Leitch, Brian Leitch, and
5Carol Leitch Fries; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Paul Duncan Leitch, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Paul Leitch as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
