SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dolores J. Polizzi of Woodstock, who
4passed away on July 20, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dolores Polizzi was born in Chicago on September
615, 1926, to Edward and Alma (nee Pavasek) Bergman; she moved
7with her family to a farm near Harvard and attended King County
8School and graduated from Harvard High School in 1944; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dolores Polizzi moved to Woodstock, where she met
10her husband, Casimer Polizzi; they were part owners of the
11Polizzi Brothers Food Mart in Woodstock; she briefly worked for
12Woodstock Autolite and later the McHenry County tuberculosis
13office until her retirement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dolores Polizzi was dedicated to her family and
15her community; she helped raise a grandson and took care of her
16mother and husband until their passing; she enjoyed
17participating in Woodstock Senior Services and volunteered at
18the local nursing homes and at St. Mary's Church in Woodstock;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dolores Polizzi was preceded in death by her
21husband of 62 years, Casimer; and

1    WHEREAS, Dolores Polizzi is survived by her children, Nancy
2(David) Corcoran, Dick (Rhonda) Polizzi, Sandy (Randy) Eslick,
3and Jim Polizzi; her grandchildren, Tony (Jen) Polizzi, Kristin
4(Dan) Tussing, Megan (Chris) Jessen, Rhiannon (Patrick)
5Louise, Jeremy Polizzi, Ryan Polizzi, Kali Eslick, Laura
6Polizzi, and AJ Polizzi; her great-grandchildren, Peter John
7Louise and Landon Casimer John Polizzi; her brother-in-law,
8John Polizzi; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Dolores J. Polizzi, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dolores Polizzi as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
