SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marshall L. "Mike" Pappas of Chicago, who passed away on June 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Pappas was born on August 13, 1926, in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Pappas served his country with pride as a member of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Pappas was a co-owner of the former Joe Bailley's Restaurant on South Western Avenue in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Pappas was the beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Montesano); the loving father of Laura (Dr. Robert) Sawchyn, Marsha, Keith (Holly), Christian (Michelle), and Erik (Jennifer) Pappas; the dear grandfather of 10 grandchildren; the brother of Mae Ducas and Elaine (the late Peter) Georgelos; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Marshall L. "Mike" Pappas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marshall Pappas as an expression of our sympathy.
