SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lester Marshall Hays of Carlinville, who passed away on March 20, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Lester Hays was born on April 5, 1927, in Girard to Lloyd Marshall and Eva (Wallace) Hays; and

WHEREAS, Lester Hays served in the U.S. Army; he was a truck driver starting in 1950 for Prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville; he worked for various trucking companies until his retirement in 1995 and then moved to Oklahoma and hauled bulk milk for milk transport to Highland Dairy for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Lester Hays enjoyed walking in the timber, mushroom hunting with his family, and teaching about plants and trees; he and his family would gather around a fire and roast hot dogs; and

WHEREAS, Lester Hays was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Glen, Melvin, and Raymond Hays; and

WHEREAS, Lester Hays is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Bill) Lange and Sue Ann Barto; his son, Leslie Marshall (Margie Rice) Hays; his 8 grandchildren; his 20 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Maxine Keltner and Emelene Batchelder; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lester Hays, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lester Hays as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
