SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lester Marshall Hays of Carlinville, who
4passed away on March 20, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lester Hays was born on April 5, 1927, in Girard
6to Lloyd Marshall and Eva (Wallace) Hays; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Lester Hays served in the U.S. Army; he was a
8truck driver starting in 1950 for Prairie Farms Dairy in
9Carlinville; he worked for various trucking companies until his
10retirement in 1995 and then moved to Oklahoma and hauled bulk
11milk for milk transport to Highland Dairy for 10 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lester Hays enjoyed walking in the timber,
13mushroom hunting with his family, and teaching about plants and
14trees; he and his family would gather around a fire and roast
15hot dogs; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lester Hays was preceded in death by his parents
17and his brothers, Glen, Melvin, and Raymond Hays; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lester Hays is survived by his daughters, Nancy
19(Bill) Lange and Sue Ann Barto; his son, Leslie Marshall
20(Margie Rice) Hays; his 8 grandchildren; his 20

1great-grandchildren; his sisters, Maxine Keltner and Emelene
2Batchelder; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Lester Hays, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Lester Hays as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
