SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Chester J. "Chet" Rybicki; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki was born on March 25, 1916; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki enlisted in the United States Air
6Force in 1942; he served his country during World War II until
7his discharge in 1945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki began his marketing career in
9Chicago in 1947; in 1960, he moved to Naperville with his
10family; he thereafter began commuting to Chicago, moving up to
11a new office in the Sears Tower upon its completion in 1973
12until his retirement in 1975; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki served with distinction as the
14Mayor of Naperville from 1975 to 1983; during his career, he
15was instrumental in Naperville's growth and development,
16especially during the 1970s and 1980s, and helped to build
17Naperville into a great place for families to raise children;
18since the beginning of his public service in 1962, he tallied
1975 years concurrently on a number of township and Naperville
20boards and commissions, including the Naperville Plan
21Commission, the YMCA Board, and the Naperville Public Library

1Board; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki was a member of the Rotary Club of
3Naperville since 1986; he was also a longtime member of St.
4Raphael Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion
5Post 43; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki was preceded in death by his
7loving wife of 61 years, Lillian ("Mickey"); and
 
8    WHEREAS, Chester Rybicki is survived by his children,
9Michael (Mary) Rybicki, John (Susan) Rybicki, and Cheryl
10(Raymond) Foster; his grandchildren, William Rybicki, James
11Rybicki, Dennis Martens, Elizabeth Foster, and Michael Foster;
12and his great-grandchildren, Ada and Henry; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15his family and friends, the passing of Chester J. "Chet"
16Rybicki; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Chester Rybicki as an expression of
19our sympathy.
