SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy Tyler of Chicago, who passed away on February 20, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Tyler was born in Mendenhall, Mississippi on June 12, 1937 to Hallie and Noah Bullock; she married Arthur Tyler, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Tyler had a passion for volunteering and gave much of her time and energy to the homeless and friends; her charitable nature was expressed in numerous ways including monthly financial donations and Christmas toys to the needy; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Tyler is survived by her significant other, James Bean; her son, Darnell Tyler; her siblings, Mary Bournes, Lillie Chester, Nolan Bullock, Ervin Henry Bullock, Andre Bullock, and Olen C. Bullock; her one granddaughter; her 3 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dorothy Tyler, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Tyler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
