SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Doris Kay Weidner of McHenry, who passed
4away on March 12, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doris Weidner was born on October 16, 1943 in
6Chicago; her parents were Walter and Ingrid Peterson; she
7married her first husband, David Johnson, in 1966; he passed
8away in 1967; she married Ronald Weidner in August of 1978 at
9St. Peter Church in Volo; and
 
10    WHEREAS, As a child, Doris Weidner moved with her family
11from Chicago to Island Lake, graduating from Wauconda High
12School in 1961; she lived much of her life in the Wauconda
13area; following her first husband's death, she worked and
14raised her son in Wauconda with the support of her family and
15friends; after marrying her second husband, they lived on their
16farm off Gilmer Road until moving to McHenry in 2008; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Doris Weidner was an active member of the Wauconda
18Township Historical Society, the Wauconda Women's Club, Women
19in Government Service, and numerous other professional and
20political organizations; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Doris Weidner was a faithful employee of the

1Wauconda Township Assessor's Office, finally retiring in 2006
2after serving 17 years as Assessor; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Doris Weidner was preceded in death by her
4parents; her sister, Susan L. Bole; her first husband, David
5Johnson; and her beloved giant schnauzers, Heide and Libby; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Doris Weidner is survived by her husband of 36
7years, Ronald Weidner; her son, Lance, and his wife; her 2
8grandchildren; her brother, Russell (Judy) Peterson; her
9sister-in-law, Janet (Erich) Schmidbauer; her brothers-in-law,
10Jim (Linda) Weidner, Larry Weidner, Robert Weidner, and Lester
11Cednick; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Doris Kay Weidner; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Doris Weidner as an expression of
18our sympathy.
