Amends the Counties Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning maintenance of the county police department.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section 3-7001 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/3-7001) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-7001)

Sec. 3-7001. Maintenance of county police department. The Sheriff in each county having more than 1,000,000 inhabitants shall maintain a division to be known as the the County Police Department and to consist of such deputy sheriffs charged with the duty of law enforcement in such county as may be selected as hereinafter provided.
