SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vera Ann (nee, Attalla) Mushro of Lockport, who passed away on February 23, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Vera devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren; she was known for her tremendous strength, courage, and above all, her unconditional love; and

WHEREAS, She touched many lives with her beautiful spirit and smile; she was known for her Lebanese cooking and baking and also crocheting blankets for her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Dennis Church in Lockport; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; her parents, Ameen and Miriam (Balbaky) Attalla; her granddaughter, Lynn Almond Ogden; her great-granddaughter, Danielle Gonsoulin, and her two brothers and six sisters; and

WHEREAS, Vera Mushro is survived by her children, Lois LaBarre, Carol (Ken) Almond, George Jr. (Sharon), Russell (Judy), Miriam (Jim) Abraham, and Denise Rumchak; her 17 grandchildren; her 23 great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with family and friends, the passing of Vera Mushro; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vera Mushro as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
