SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Henry D. "Dale" Gilbert of Pawnee, who passed away on June 8, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Henry Gilbert was born in Springfield on July 16, 1942, to Henry J. and Margaret M. Sprouse Gilbert; and

WHEREAS, Henry Gilbert worked for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue as a Data Input Operator for many years; he retired from there in 1991; and

WHEREAS, Henry Gilbert was an auctioneer; he loved going to auctions with his nephew, seeking out special and unique items; he was a past member of the Pawnee Lion's Club, a member of AARP, and a member of Pawnee United Methodist Church; he served as an election judge and also served on the Zoning Board in Pawnee; he was an avid BINGO player and devoted his time to family and friends, never missing his niece and nephews events and activities; and

WHEREAS, Henry Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret Smith; several aunts and uncles; and his nephew, Jerry Lyons; and

WHEREAS, Henry Gilbert is survived by his sisters, Sandra Myers and Mary Lyons; his nieces and nephews, Sherri (Marcus) Schnetz, Bob (Mary Beth) Myers, Mark (Jackie) Myers, Keith (Shelia) Myers, and Dr. Kris (Steve) Myers-Stuenkel; his great nieces and nephews, Zachary, Noah, Tayler, Alex, and Wesley Myers, Christopher Pettit, and Joey Stuenkel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Henry Gilbert, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Henry Gilbert as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
