SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Rosemary Anton Bannon of Peoria, who passed away on August 15, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon was born on September 23, 1923, in Parma, Ohio, to Felix and Sophia (Jarus) Anton; she married Edward "Ted" Bannon in Parma, Ohio, on July 21, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon graduated in 1941, from Notre Dame Academy High School in Cleveland; she worked at Ohio Crankshaft and volunteered at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland; she spent time in El Paso, Texas, Waukegan, and Joliet on her way to Peoria; she volunteered at the U.S. Army Separation Center, while living in El Paso, assisting veterans with their return to civilian live; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon joined the family-owned Prima Quality Foods, later known as Trinity Foods, in East Peoria in 1970, as an office assistant; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon and Edward were active in many areas during their lives, including the Christian Family Movement, the Parent's Board of Spalding Institute/Academy of Our Lady, the Armstrong-Ellis Neighborhood Association, the West Bluff Council and the Franklin-Edison School Neighborhood Partnership; she was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Peoria and a former member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church until its closing; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bannon; her siblings Gertrude Palker, Paul Anton, Ben Anton, and Dick Anton; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon is survived by her children, Kevin (Lynn) Bannon, Barb (Jim) Eckhart, Ginny (Tony) Pisano, Terry (Mike) Risen, Kathleen (Eric) Ward, Cookie Bannon, Joanne (Ed Tarbuck) Bannon, Peg (Dane) Buchele, Maureen Bannon, Jean (Doug Schneebeck) Bannon, and Lorrie (Steve) Park; her grandchildren, Jenna Davis, Joe Friederich, Dan Schlicksup, Emily Schoemehl, Edward and Anthony Schlicksup, Isabelle, Eric, and Elizabeth Ward, Scott, Rob, Geoff, Ryan, and Sean Eckhart, Amy, Anne, David, and Tim Risen, Leah Goforth, Elaine Wicker, Kevin West, Maureen Langholf, Michael, Mario, and Nick Pisano, Colleen, Megan, and Jeremy Park, Katie and Alex Jones, Jed, Claire, and Paige Buchele, Jessa Herren, Jimmy and Abby Schneebeck, Erin Sparrow and Frank and Rose Gray; her 26 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Ann (Don) Krueger and Joe (Mil) Anton; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Anton; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rosemary Bannon, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rosemary Bannon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
