SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Rosemary Anton Bannon of
4Peoria, who passed away on August 15, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon was born on September 23, 1923, in
6Parma, Ohio, to Felix and Sophia (Jarus) Anton; she married
7Edward "Ted" Bannon in Parma, Ohio, on July 21, 1945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon graduated in 1941, from Notre Dame
9Academy High School in Cleveland; she worked at Ohio Crankshaft
10and volunteered at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland; she spent
11time in El Paso, Texas, Waukegan, and Joliet on her way to
12Peoria; she volunteered at the U.S. Army Separation Center,
13while living in El Paso, assisting veterans with their return
14to civilian live; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon joined the family-owned Prima
16Quality Foods, later known as Trinity Foods, in East Peoria in
171970, as an office assistant; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon and Edward were active in many
19areas during their lives, including the Christian Family
20Movement, the Parent's Board of Spalding Institute/Academy of
21Our Lady, the Armstrong-Ellis Neighborhood Association, the

1West Bluff Council and the Franklin-Edison School Neighborhood
2Partnership; she was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in
3Peoria and a former member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church until
4its closing; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon was preceded in death by her
6husband, Edward Bannon; her siblings Gertrude Palker, Paul
7Anton, Ben Anton, and Dick Anton; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rosemary Bannon is survived by her children, Kevin
9(Lynn) Bannon, Barb (Jim) Eckhart, Ginny (Tony) Pisano, Terry
10(Mike) Risen, Kathleen (Eric) Ward, Cookie Bannon, Joanne (Ed
11Tarbuck) Bannon, Peg (Dane) Buchele, Maureen Bannon, Jean (Doug
12Schneebeck) Bannon, and Lorrie (Steve) Park; her
13grandchildren, Jenna Davis, Joe Friederich, Dan Schlicksup,
14Emily Schoemehl, Edward and Anthony Schlicksup, Isabelle,
15Eric, and Elizabeth Ward, Scott, Rob, Geoff, Ryan, and Sean
16Eckhart, Amy, Anne, David, and Tim Risen, Leah Goforth, Elaine
17Wicker, Kevin West, Maureen Langholf, Michael, Mario, and Nick
18Pisano, Colleen, Megan, and Jeremy Park, Katie and Alex Jones,
19Jed, Claire, and Paige Buchele, Jessa Herren, Jimmy and Abby
20Schneebeck, Erin Sparrow and Frank and Rose Gray; her 26
21great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Ann (Don) Krueger and
22Joe (Mil) Anton; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Anton; and her
23many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Rosemary Bannon, and extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Rosemary Bannon as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
