SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jackie L. LaPayne of Wyoming, who died on August 7, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Jackie LaPayne was born in Peoria to Cleo B. and Alice E. Jackson LaPayne on June 7, 1941; he married Connie Asbell in Wyoming on November 11, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Jackie LaPayne worked as a welder for Larson Manufacturing in Princeville, Kress in Brimfield, and Caterpillar in Peoria; he retired in 2003; he served as an alderman in Wyoming for several years; and

WHEREAS, Jackie LaPayne was a member of Wyoming Lodge 479 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Alta Lodge 748 AF & AM, and was an honorary member of Princeville Lodge 360 AF & AM; he was a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria, Order of the Eastern Star, and Stark Congregational Church; and

WHEREAS, Jackie LaPayne was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; his brother, Rex LaPayne; and his sisters, C. Eileen K. Daughtery and Joyce Camp; and

WHEREAS, Jackie LaPayne is survived by his son, Rex LaPayne; his daughters, Colleen (Jim) Pearson and Sherry (Roy Van Meter) LaPayne; and his grandchildren, Eryn, Nicholas, Katelyn, Alexander, Evan, and Rylie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jackie LaPayne, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jackie LaPayne an expression of our deepest sympathy.
