SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of LaVerne Weber of Oswego, who
4died on July 23, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, LaVerne Weber was born on August 13, 1932, in
6Leland to LaVerne and Athea M. (nee Passow) Weber; he married
7Barbara A. Fisher on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1955, in
8Sandwich; and
 
9    WHEREAS, LaVerne Weber graduated from Somonauk High School
10in 1950; he served his country in the U.S. Army during the
11Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954, attaining the rank of
12corporal; he was a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 916 of
13Aurora, the Lucky 50 Fishing Club, and Senior Services of
14Yorkville; he was a former member of the Tigers Club and
15Phoenix Club; he was a member of the Montgomery Memorial VFW
16Post 7452, where he participated in the funeral honor guard and
17commanded the color guard for many years; he spent the last
18four years as post commander; and
 
19    WHEREAS, LaVerne Weber served as scoutmaster for Oswego Boy
20Scout Troup 63 during the 1970's and was involved with the YMCA
21Indian Guides with his sons; he worked as a carpenter for many
22years, retiring in 1994; he loved to go fishing, hunting, and

1spending time with his family, grandchildren, and
2great-grandchildren; and
 
3    WHEREAS, LaVerne Weber was preceded in death by his
4parents, LaVerne and Athea; his son, Jimmy Weber; his sister,
5Shirley (Weber) Lippold; and his nephew, Paul Lippold; and
 
6    WHEREAS, LaVerne Weber is survived by his wife, Barbara A.
7(nee Fisher); his daughter, Beth Barringer; his sons, Alan
8(Sue) Weber, Terry Weber, Mark (Debbie) Weber, and Matt (Jane)
9Weber; his grandchildren, Janell (Mark) Fasso, Jamie (Bryce)
10Jacobs and Jessica Barringer, Eric (Heather) Weber, Jackie
11(Kenneth) Van Roekel, Leah (Jake) Evans, Ben (Syntche), Matt,
12Kelly, and Luke Weber, Lisa (Jason) Fowler; his
13great-grandchildren, Sadie and Seth Van Roekel, Ava, Brennon,
14and Cadie Evans, Liam Fowler, Emma and Tessa Jacobs, Mia
15Barringer, and Alex Fasso; his sister, Virgina Weber; his
16brothers-in-law, Virgil Lippold and Robert (Karen) Fisher; his
17niece, Patricia Lippold; and his nephews, Bill Lippold and Wade
18Fisher; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21LaVerne Weber, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
22family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

2presented to the family of LaVerne Weber as an expression of
3our deepest sympathy.
