SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ivan Seppell of Montgomery, formerly of Aurora, who passed away on May 4, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell was born on July 12, 1932, in Aurora; he married Marilee Feldott on October 16, 1954, at St. Mary's Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War; he was a graduate of Aurora College; and

WHEREAS, After having been employed by Northern Illinois Gas for 32 years, Ivan Seppell and his wife opened Jonlee Flowers in 1973; and

WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell was a member of Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Aurora and founded the "Light In My Life" Luminary program with his wife; he also sat as a proud member of the Board of Directors at the Paramount Arts Centre, where he was instrumental in the opening of the "Grand Gallery"; and

WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell was preceded in death by his parents, Allie and Mary; his in-laws, Francis and Mildred; his 2 brothers-in-law; and his niece, Jody Rossler; and

WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell is survived by his wife, Marilee; his daughters, Lynn (Don) Paul, Laura English, and Lisa (Randy) Brown; his grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Brown and Erica and Emily Paul; his sisters, Clarine (the late Edwin) Gengler and Mildred (the late Leon) Feldott; his many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Bill Becker; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ivan Seppell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ivan Seppell as an expression of our sympathy.
