SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard A. Cannon, who passed away on
4February 3, 2011 in Brighton; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on February 16, 1931, in Coffeen, the
6son of Roy and Grace K. (Donaldson) Cannon; he married Neil K.
7Wilhelm on July 14, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in Upper
8Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was a United States Navy veteran and served in
10the Korean Conflict; he was stationed on the USS Salsbury Sound
11as a machinist mate; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He worked for Owens-Illinois Glass as a machinist
13for 41 years and retired in 1992; he was a member of the Golden
14Emblem Club with Owens-Illinois Glass; he enjoyed hunting,
15fishing and spending time with his family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; six
17brothers; and two sisters; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Cannon is survived by his wife, Neil
19Cannon; his two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Brenda
20Cannon and David and Stephanie Cannon; his daughter and

1son-in-law, Janet and Henry Hoehn; his grandchildren and their
2spouses, Jake and Ginny Cannon, Matt and Emily Cannon, Danielle
3and Larry Linville, Lisa Malson, Denise and Todd Vaughan, and
4Eric Hoehn; his 11 great-grandchildren, Gennasee, Deklan and
5Wyatt Cannon, Victoria Skelton, Jordan and Donny Linville,
6Tristan Malson, Quinten and Abigail Vaughan, and Samantha and
7Maxwell Hoehn; and his siblings, Doris Anderson, Grace
8Giddings, Bill Cannon, James Cannon, and Laurel Cannon;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Richard Cannon; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Richard Cannon as a symbol of our
16sincere sympathy.
