SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Charles Demitriu of Lombard, who passed away on December 6, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1941 and went on to work for General Motors for 42 years, retiring as the Superintendent of the Transmission Division; and

WHEREAS, He was an active member in both his community and church, and he instilled in his family the importance of education and hard work; and

WHEREAS, Michael Charles Demitriu was the beloved husband of the late Mildred, nee Klaric; the loving father of Dorothy (Phil) Zinsmeister, Constance (Mario) Bertolino, and Janet (Elmer) Gramley; the most cherished grandpa of Claudia Bertolino, Jeffrey Zinsmeister, Sara Gramley, and the late Michael Bertolino; the dear brother of the late Chris (the late Catherine) Demitriu, the late James (the late Lorraine) Demitriu, and the late Peter Demitriu; and the dear friend of the late Arlene Pankow; he is survived and was loved by many nieces, nephews, members of the Klaric family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Michael Demitriu; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Demitriu as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
