SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened to learn of the death of Sharon Rose McGuire, who passed away on February 17, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose was raised in Aurora; she later attended and graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Evanston, and proudly celebrated her 50th anniversary with her classmates in the summer of 2011; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose remained a dedicated and active nurse through her sudden passing, always staying true to the motto "Vita Aliis Vota" - a life devoted to others; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose was the beloved wife of Daniel F.; the loving mother of Daniel F. III (Monika), Michael (Mary Kay), and Jodi Maureen McGuire; the loving "Gramma" of Lucy, Mikey, Brigitte, Johnny, and Nicole; the dear sister of William (Mary Jo) and James (Barbara) MacDonald, the late Mary Jean (the late Paul) Rohr, Rita (the late Edward) Stare, and Maureen (the late Patrick) O'Sullivan; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose was a dedicated aunt and godmother and trusted lifelong friend to many; she nourished each and every relationship she had; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose accepted her diagnosis of cancer with faith and courage, which were the pillars of her life and attributes that she always encouraged in her family; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose celebrated life to its fullest; her love of celebration was truly a gift that she lovingly passed on to each of her children and "grand darlings", a gift for which they are eternally grateful; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Rose will be dearly missed by Dan, her devoted husband of 48 years; her children and their spouses; her grand darlings, who were the center of her life; her other relatives; her nursing friends and classmates from St. Francis; her multitude of friends, especially the Estes Avenue Bridge Group, of which she was a member for 40 years; and by all the members of St. Margaret Mary Parish, especially the parish's children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Sharon Rose McGuire; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sharon McGuire as an expression of our sympathy.
