SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Susan Corinne Dragich of Glen Carbon, who
4passed away on February 21, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born February 18, 1931, in Macon,
6Missouri; and
 
7    WHEREAS, She was a grade school teacher, beginning her
8career in the 1950s at Niedringhaus School in Granite City, and
9then moved on to Harris School in Madison in the 1960s, before
10retiring from St. Paul's Catholic School in Highland in 1993;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, She was an avid bridge player and was a member of
13Who's New Bridge Club and had served as its past president; she
14also loved to read and travel with family and friends; and
 
15    WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in
16Glen Carbon; and
 
17    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond
18R. Dragich, whom she married on August 16, 1952, in Macon,
19Missouri; her parents, Dr. Charles R. and Frances M. nee
20Williams, Shale; and

1    WHEREAS, Susan Dragich is survived by her daughters, Janet
2(John) Sturley and Susan (Rick) McCain; her sons, Dr. Jerry
3(Karen) Dragich and Robert Dragich; her grandchildren,
4Jennifer Dragich Cates, Julie and Kathryn Dragich, Ryan, Mark,
5and Paige Sturley, Laura (McCain) McNelly, and Erica McCain;
6her great-grandchildren, Mason, Jackson, and Charlie; and her
7sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Dr. Murray McComas;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Susan Dragich; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Susan Dragich as a symbol of our
15sincere sympathy.
