SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis Alaksiewicz of Peoria, who passed away on February 16, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Francis Alaksiewicz was born on November 24, 1938, in Warsaw, Poland; his adopted parents were Bruno and Marie (Gabrysiak) Alaksiewicz; he married Carolyn Louis on June 11, 1966, in Benson; and

WHEREAS, Francis Alaksiewicz served his country as a member of the United States Army during peace time; and

WHEREAS, Francis Alaksiewicz was employed with the United States Postal Service; he subsequently worked as a lab technician at the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, where he served until his retirement in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Francis Alaksiewicz was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Francis Alaksiewicz was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David; and

WHEREAS, Francis Alaksiewicz is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and his sons, Matthew, John, Mark, and Mike; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Francis Alaksiewicz; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francis Alaksiewicz as an expression of our sympathy.
