SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Geraldine M. "Gerry" Maleski of Herrin, who passed away on February 1, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Maleski was born on April 25, 1921, in Herrin; her parents were Tony and Maggie (Elena) Garavalia; she married Truman H. Lynn, who preceded her in death in 1953; she married James "Jake" Maleski on September 5, 1959, in Royalton; he preceded her in death on October 29, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Maleski formerly worked as a secretary for the Herrin Senior Citizens and the Williamson County Industrial Commission; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Maleski was a Christian and enjoyed word searches and tending to her flowers; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Maleski was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her brother, Randolph Garavalia; and her granddaughter, Kristin Lynn; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Maleski is survived by her sons, Gary Dale Lynn and his wife, Kathy, Randy Lynn and his wife, Judy, Dick Lynn and his wife, Vicki, Rick Lynn and his wife, Kathy, Jon Maleski and his wife, Lisa, and Jim A. Maleski and his wife, Alisa; her 16 grandchildren; and her 17 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Geraldine M. "Gerry" Maleski; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geraldine Maleski as an expression of our sympathy.
