SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roger J. Lehman of Bloomington, who
4passed away on August 10, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Lehman was born on March 11, 1930, in
6Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; he was the son of John and Marie
7Hally Lehman; he married Diane Milliken on November 28, 1957,
8in Syracuse, New York; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roger Lehman graduated from Scranton Prep School
10in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and St. Bonaventure University in
11Olean, New York; he subsequently earned his law degree at
12Syracuse Law School in Syracuse, New York; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roger Lehman retired from State Farm Insurance
14Companies as an executive vice president in 1995 after 38 years
15of dedicated service; he served on State Farm Insurance
16Companies boards until 2000; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Roger Lehman was a past member of the United Way
18board; he served as a police and fire commissioner; he was a
19past president of the Goal Line Club at the University of
20Minnesota and the Exchange Club; he was also a member of Holy
21Trinity Church in Bloomington and the Bloomington Country Club

1and was an avid golfer; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Roger Lehman was preceded in death by his son,
3Patrick A. Lehman, and his grandson, Jack Lehman; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Roger Lehman is survived by his wife, Diane; his
5daughter, Kathleen M. Lehman; his sons, Michael (Janet) Lehman
6and Kevin R. (Jan) Lehman; his grandchildren, Hallie and Luke
7Lehman, and Patrick, Megan, and Leo Lehman; and his sister,
8Connie (David) Hurd; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Roger J. Lehman; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Roger J. Lehman as an expression of
15our sympathy.
