SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John A. Stilwell of Alton, who passed away on September 29, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born May 8, 1944, in Alton, the son of Walter and Kathleen (King) Stilwell; he served in the United States Air Force and retired from Owens Illinois Glass in Godfrey after 39 years of service; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the Alton-Wood River Sportsman's Club and the International Association of Machinist 660; and

WHEREAS, John Stilwell is survived by his daughter, Cathy Asaro; his son, Brian Stilwell and his wife, Trisha; his grandchildren, Andy Asaro and Eric Asaro, Emily Radcliff, Jon Leggett Stilwell, and Heaven Stilwell; his great-granddaughter; his brother, Jerry Stilwell; his sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Parsons-Freeman and her husband, "Tot" Freeman; his former wife, Darlene Stilwell; and his caring friends, John and Bobbi Ulrich; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of John Stilwell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Stilwell as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
